About Us

The Happy Pappy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to strengthening youth and families. We uplift underrepresented populations through art, education, and collective care, cultivating spaces where folx feel seen, supported, and connected. Rooted at the intersection of mental health, social justice, and faith, we embrace a holistic approach to fostering stability, healing, and empowerment.

Guided by principles of faith, responsibility, and service, we support Black, Brown, and LGBTQIA+ individuals and families navigating challenges related to mental health, education, and economic stability. By equipping those we serve with the tools and resources they need to thrive, we aim to foster hope, resilience, and self-sufficiency that extends across generations.

Our Story

The Happy Pappy Foundation was born out of love, resilience, and a deep commitment to collective care. Founded by LGBTQIA+ leaders of Black, Latinx, and Asian descent, the foundation emerged from a shared vision to create spaces where families—especially those from marginalized backgrounds—could heal, learn, and thrive together.

What began as a grassroots effort to meet immediate needs has grown into a movement rooted in creativity, compassion, and purpose. Our founders understand firsthand the power of visibility, representation, and faith in oneself and one another. Their lived experiences shape everything we do—from our art-based programs to our mental health and education initiatives—ensuring that care is not performative, but personal.

The Happy Pappy Foundation exists to remind people that community is not something you find; it’s something we build together.

What We Do

Through art workshops, back-to-school drives, healing-centered programs, and leadership initiatives, we create opportunities for growth and belonging. Our programs are designed to nurture creativity, mental wellness, and confidence while addressing the structural barriers that impact youth and families.

Led by a diverse team with lived experience across the communities we serve, we transform care into action and connection into empowerment—helping families not only survive, but thrive.

Community Garden

Our Vision

The Happy Pappy Foundation envisions a world where Black, Brown, and LGBTQIA+ individuals and families thrive in safety, dignity, and joy — where healing is honored, leadership is nurtured, and cultural brilliance is restored across generations. Where we have the resources, support, and community needed to thrive. We aspire to build a permanent home in California serving as the headquarters for its operations and community programs, as well as a sanctuary for healing, creativity, and empowerment. This central location is where youth and families from all backgrounds could access education, mental health support, and opportunities to grow in strength and purpose.
